Kids Sport

Guidelines for grants to individual participants:

  • must be endorsed by an adult who is either a school teacher, principal or community school worker; a professional in social work or family services; a law enforcement officer; a clergy member; or a recreation administrator who is familiar with the participant and his or her financial need.

  • priority will be given to payment of participation/registration fees

  • preference is given to participants who are being introduced into organized sport

  • only youth up to the age of 18 inclusive are considered eligible for financial support

  • a participant may not receive more than $750 in a calendar year

  • travel to play-offs, championships, camps, dance, etc. is not an eligible expense

  • funds are allocated on a monthly basis

  • applications will be processed within approximately 30 days of the application deadlines

  • deadline for applications is the 21st of each month

  • applications will be accepted on a first come-first serve basis

  • availability of funding is limited

  • KidSport™ issues funds to a league, association or school on behalf of the participant

Program funding is also available to sport organizations and youth agencies targeting KidSport™ children. Please download and complete a Program Grant Application form and return it to the Regina KidSport™ office. If approved for program funding, the recipient will be notified through a letter in the mail along with the funding approved. The recipient then must fill out and return a Program Grant Follow Up Report no longer than 30 days after completion of the program.
